How many seasons can peppers be grown in a year?

Peppers contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals and can be grown all year round . In the natural environment, they are generally sown in late January to early February in spring and early August in summer. At this time, the climate is mild and the temperature is suitable, which is conducive to the growth and development of peppers.

Pepper growing conditions

Peppers are warm, short-day crops that grow in a mild climate with plenty of sunshine. The most suitable temperature for their growth is between 12 and 30 degrees Celsius. Peppers need sufficient light to grow. Insufficient light can easily cause flowers and fruits to fall off, and strong light exposure can easily induce plant diseases. Therefore, good lighting conditions must be guaranteed to meet the growth of peppers.

Peppers are not drought-tolerant or water-tolerant. The plant itself does not require much water, but due to its underdeveloped root system, it needs to maintain sufficient water to enable it to grow well. However, care must be taken to avoid waterlogging that causes root rot. Peppers do not have high requirements for soil and can be planted on soils of different textures. During the growth process, it has a large demand for nitrogen and potassium, so fertilization should be done in a timely manner.

Pepper harvest time

The growing period of peppers is generally 3-4 months. Spring-sown peppers are generally harvested and picked in May and June, and summer-sown peppers are usually picked and put on the market in October and November. Now peppers are grown in greenhouses. Under good temperature conditions, they can be planted and matured all year round.
