How to plant radish and when to plant it (technical points)

The best time to plant radish

Radishes can be planted all year round. Spring radishes are generally planted between February and April, summer radishes are planted between May and June, and autumn radishes and winter radishes are planted in July-August and early September respectively.

Radish planting methods and key points

1. Since the germination ability of radish seeds is relatively weak and the germination rate is not high, in order to ensure its breeding scale and survival rate, generally many holes are dug at a certain distance on the selected soil, and then 4 seeds are placed in each hole, so as to ensure its survival rate.

2. Radish seedlings will grow about 7 days after sowing. The seedlings themselves will have different growth trends due to nutrient, water and other issues. During its growth period, the seedlings that grow too weak should be removed and weeds should be pulled regularly.

3. Radishes can withstand cold but not heat. Therefore, after planting, ensure that the temperature around them does not exceed 22 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature does not drop below 3 degrees Celsius, so that they can grow stronger.

Key points for radish management

When planting radish, choose soft and deep soil, because its roots will be deep, so the soil should not be too poor. It has a high demand for water and generally needs to be watered once every ten to fifteen days, but stop watering within a week before the harvest.
