1. Water Planting Cutting Method

It is very difficult to survive water-planted Anthurium cuttings, and cuttings are mostly cultivated using soil cultivation methods. The hydroponic anthuriums we usually see are all grown in soil, and then transferred to hydroponics when they grow to a certain size.

If you want to try cuttings yourself, you can cut a section of the plant with 1-2 stem nodes and 3-4 leaves as a cutting. After cutting it from the mother plant, cut the bottom of the cutting diagonally with a blade and insert it into the sphagnum moss. If you take good care of it for a period of time, new roots will grow.

2. Can a leaf be used for cuttings?

A single leaf of Anthurium can be used for cuttings, but it must be cultivated using a breathable substrate. Prepare the planting soil in advance, cut a healthy and plump leaf from the mother plant, apply an appropriate amount of rooting powder on the cut, and insert it into the substrate.

The operation method is very simple, but you need to pay attention to the maintenance during the rooting period. The temperature needs to be maintained at around 20-25℃, avoid direct sunlight, and spray it with a small amount of water to keep it moist, but don't water it in large quantities. New roots will sprout in about half a month.
