Chrysanthemum planting method and time when is the best time to plant

Suitable time for planting chrysanthemums

The best time to plant chrysanthemums is in spring and autumn. The climate in these two seasons is conducive to the germination of seeds. You should try your best to select high-quality chrysanthemum seeds and do a good job of germination.

After planting in the soil, spray water to keep it moist. Under the condition of ensuring sufficient light, the chrysanthemum seeds will germinate and be planted in about 10-14 days.

Chrysanthemum planting methods and key points

1. Soil

Chrysanthemum is suitable for growing in sandy soil with good drainage, and it also needs to be rich in humus and other substances, and the pH value should be maintained between 5.5-7.0 as much as possible.

2. Temperature

Chrysanthemum likes to grow in a warm environment. The most suitable temperature for its growth is 10-20℃. It is also relatively cold-resistant in winter, but in order to ensure the good growth of chrysanthemums, the temperature can be maintained at 5-10℃ and above. If the temperature is too low, it needs to be moved indoors for cultivation.

Key points for daily management of chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemums require an appropriate amount of watering to maintain their health, but not too much water. Their roots cannot tolerate waterlogging. Normally, you should wait until the soil in the pot is dry before watering them. In summer, water evaporates and is lost quickly, so you should increase the amount of watering appropriately.

Generally, chrysanthemums like fertilizer, so you need to apply enough base fertilizer. During the period of vigorous growth, you can apply fertilizer every two weeks. Remember not to splash the fertilizer onto the leaves.
