What is the method of tomato propagation and what is used to propagate it?

1. Seed propagation

1. Soak the seeds for germination: Soak the seeds in clean water for 2 hours before sowing. Take them out and put them in 55-degree hot water for another 4 hours. Stir them frequently during this period to avoid burns. After soaking in clean water, soak in trisodium phosphate solution for 20 minutes to avoid some diseases.

2. Soil preparation: The soil must be loose, retain water, fertilizer and be breathable. After preparation, it can be spread on the sowing bed or placed in the seedling tray.

3. Sowing: After the seeds are processed and the soil is prepared, sowing can be carried out. The commonly used methods are row sowing, broadcast sowing and spot sowing. Whichever you use, cover the soil immediately after planting. There is no time requirement for its planting, but if it is chosen in winter and spring, it should be covered with ground film, and if it is in summer and autumn, it should be shaded with a shade net, and seedlings will grow soon.

2. Cutting propagation

Cutting method is also commonly used. Choose branches that are growing healthily, remove the leaves below, and leave only three or four leaves on the top. After processing, soak it in clean water and white roots will grow in three or four days. Note that you need to change the water every day during this period to ensure the water is clean. After it grows roots, you can plant it directly in a flowerpot. Note that it should not be exposed to light in the early stage. After three days, slowly expose it to the sun to avoid sunburn.
