How to manage orchid flowering period

How to manage orchid flowering period

1. Humidity

From the time when its flower buds begin to grow to the time when it blooms, the soil in the pot should not be too dry or too wet. When the soil turns slightly white, you can add the usual amount of water to it. Especially when the temperature is high or the humidity is low and the wind is strong, you just need to sprinkle some water mist on it to humidify it.

2. Lighting

If the direction of the flower is not very straight during the flowering period, you should rotate it in time so that it can receive light more evenly, so that the posture will be more beautiful. When its flowers bloom, you only need to use diffuse light to expose them, because too strong sunlight will cause them to be burned, and too weak sunlight will cause the color to not be bright red. It is best to place it in a cooler area.

3. Prevent extreme heat and frost

First, because there are many varieties of this flower, some bloom in all seasons, so they need to be better protected during the hot summer and frosty seasons. Second, varieties that flower in summer and autumn will not flower well because the light is too strong. Varieties that flower in winter and spring are likely to be affected by the cold. Third, you need to provide shade for it during the hot summer months and protect it from the wind during the cold winter months.

4. Pruning

First, if there are a lot of flowers at the time, they should be removed appropriately, otherwise too much nutrients will be consumed. It will cause it to be damaged. This will affect the growth of flowers in the second year, so pruning is necessary. Second, just leave two or three flower arrows in each pot of flowers.

5. Add Fertilizer

You can add fertilizer to it appropriately to make its look more elegant, and you can use elements such as phosphorus and potassium to promote its fragrance. Just be careful that fertilization should be done before it flowers.
