How to grow lipstick flowers

How to grow lipstick flowers

1. Breeding conditions

1. Flower soil: When growing lipstick flowers, it is best to use loose soil with good drainage. It is recommended to use flower soil with acidic pH. Home farming generally uses a mixture of peat, sand and vermiculite.

2. Water: It grows better in a slightly moist place, so it should be watered in time during the growing season, but there should not be excess water. When the temperature drops in late autumn, you need to constantly control the amount of watering.

3. Light: Create a semi-shady growing environment for it. Provide it with sufficient light in spring, autumn and winter, but be sure to provide shade in summer. Too weak light or too short a time will affect its growth.

4. Pruning: During its growth period, it is necessary to pinch the top of the plant to help it branch better. After the flowers have bloomed, the branches that have bloomed should be cut off, which will help grow new branches and reduce nutrient consumption.

2. Breeding Methods

Generally speaking, it is propagated by cuttings, and spring and autumn are the most suitable time. Cut a healthy branch of 7-10cm in length, prepare the loose soil after disinfection, and insert the branch into the soil to fix it. Finally, spray water appropriately and avoid exposure to strong sunlight. It will take root in about a month.
