How to prepare the soil for roses and how to prepare the potting soil

Suitable soil requirements for roses

When growing roses, you must use softer flower soil, because this kind of soil has better air permeability and drainage, which is conducive to the growth of the root system. It needs more nutrients to bloom, so you must use relatively thick flower soil to grow it, and the soil should be slightly acidic. Do not use alkaline soil or clay soil.

Rose soil preparation method

1. Leaf mold + perlite + fine sand

You can mix two parts of leaf mold, two parts of perlite and one part of fine sand, and then add a small amount of base fertilizer to make rose culture soil. This soil has very high air permeability and is very beneficial for its root growth.

2. Garden soil + leaf humus + rice husk ash

You can also use five parts of garden soil, three parts of leaf mold and two parts of rice husk ash to make rose soil. This kind of soil has high fertility and is very beneficial to the growth and flowering of roses, allowing it to grow vigorously.

Rose soil changing method steps

1. Before repotting, you need to stop watering the rose in advance to make the soil dry, which is conducive to removing the rose from the pot. During the removal period, you need to pat the wall of the pot with your hands to loosen the soil. After the rose is removed from the pot, you need to remove the old soil on the outer layer of the roots and retain the soil ball at the roots.

2. After the rose is removed from the pot, if there are many rotten roots, the roots need to be cleaned, disinfected and dried, and then the prepared soil is put into the new pot, the rose is planted in the new soil, watered appropriately, and placed in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.
