How many days does it take for carrots to sprout? How to plant them quickly?

Carrot germination time

After sowing the carrots, cover them with soil and press them down. They will emerge and germinate after seven to ten days. If you want them to emerge as scheduled, you must pay attention to the planting method and daily maintenance and management. Use suitable soil when planting, ensure that the soil is fertile, loose, and well-drained. Moisturize it after planting, and apply thin fertilizers frequently.

Carrot sowing time and method

1. Sowing time: Carrots are suitable for sowing in spring and autumn. If it is spring, the best time to plant it is from late January to early February each year. It can also be sown in mid-March to April in spring. The best sowing time for carrots in autumn is around July.

2. Seed treatment: It is best to dry the carrot seeds before planting, then soak them in warm water for about 3 to 4 hours, place them on clean gauze, and place them in an environment with a temperature of about 20℃ to 25℃ for germination. They will turn white in about a month.

3. Planting and sowing: prepare loose, fertile, organic-rich sandy loam, place the seedlings in the sand, keep a distance of about 25 cm, add an appropriate amount of decomposed organic fertilizer liquid, pour water to loosen the soil, so that the nutrients are fully mixed in the soil, and strengthen water and fertilizer management.

How to manage carrots after they sprout

1. Watering in time: After the carrots emerge, their roots are very shallow, their growth is fragile, and they require relatively little water, so you should water them less and more frequently. Do not water too much at one time to avoid a large amount of water accumulation in the soil, otherwise it will easily lead to root rot, which will affect the growth of the radish.

2. Reasonable topdressing: Don't rush to apply topdressing after the carrots have just emerged. After the seedlings are established, apply fertilizer in combination with watering. You can apply 10-15 kg of urea and 10 kg of potassium sulfate per mu to promote the growth of seedling leaves.

3. Thinning in time: Carrot seedlings need to be thinned in time. Generally, the first thinning can be carried out when the first true leaf unfolds. Pull out the weak, underdeveloped, and disease- and insect-infested seedlings, leaving only the healthy and vigorous seedlings.
