Where do Ginkgo trees grow?

Ginkgo trees are suitable for growing at altitudes of 500-1000 meters in natural forests with good drainage. They do not have very high requirements for climate and soil, but if they grow in areas with cold winters, their growth will be slow or poor.

Ginkgo trees are suitable for growing in subtropical monsoon areas and are currently cultivated in most parts of my country, including Guangzhou, Yunnan, Hubei, etc. In addition, they are also cultivated in many foreign regions, such as America, Japan, South Korea, etc.

Ginkgo tree growth environment

1. Temperature: Ginkgo trees are suitable for growing in areas with an annual average temperature between 12-18℃, such as areas where the average temperature in January is higher than -4℃, the absolute minimum temperature is -25℃, the average temperature in July is not higher than 38℃, and the absolute maximum temperature does not exceed 40℃.

2. Light: Ginkgo trees like to grow in places with sufficient light and need to be guaranteed strong light to meet their photosynthesis needs. The yield of ginkgo trees is determined by the photosynthetic area, photosynthetic intensity, photosynthetic time, and the consumption and distribution of photosynthetic products.

3. Water: The root system of the ginkgo tree is relatively developed and its drought resistance is relatively strong. In areas with an annual rainfall of about 1,000 mm, irrigation is basically not required. During the rainy season, special attention should be paid to drainage and waterlogging prevention.
