Water taro planting time and method cultivation technology and management

Water taro planting time

The planting time of water taro is similar to that of ordinary taro. Both are sown after frost in the planting area. In Xinjiang, sowing begins around mid-April in spring. If sowing is too early, the seeds of water taro may rot directly and fail to sprout.

Water taro planting methods and key points

1. Processing seeds

When planting water taro seeds, you should choose healthy water taro. You can dry the seeds half a month before sowing, or place them in moist sand to germinate. The temperature should be controlled between 18-20 degrees Celsius. Drying the seeds and germinating them before planting can help the seedlings grow more evenly.

2. Soil

Water taro prefers a relatively humid environment, so when choosing the soil, you should choose suitable soil. The soil should be fertile and soft, with good ventilation and drainage. Be careful not to allow water to accumulate. After selecting the soil, you can sow the seeds normally. After sowing, remember to cover the seeds with soil.

Precautions for planting water taro

When planting water taro, you must control the moisture. It should not be too dry or too wet, otherwise it will seriously affect its growth. Before sowing, you must first turn the soil over and deep plow, sprinkle sufficient base fertilizer, and add an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer, mix well and apply them together.
