Cultivation methods and precautions of golden thread cattail

Cultivation methods and precautions of golden thread cattail

1. Soil

Golden thread cattail is suitable for growing in loose, fertile, neutral or slightly acidic soil with good water retention. When planting, you can use some leaf mold and black peat, add some base fertilizer, and mix to prepare its nutrient soil.

2. Lighting

It likes light and is also suitable for growing in semi-shade conditions. It is recommended to place it on an indoor balcony or in a well-ventilated and well-lit place outdoors for maintenance. Appropriate shade is needed in summer.

3. Temperature

It is suitable for growing in warm environments and is relatively cold-resistant. The most suitable growth temperature for it in a year is 18-25℃. During the high temperature period in summer, proper shade and cooling are needed to prevent the leaves of the plant from being burned. The temperature should not be lower than 5℃ in winter. During low temperature periods, warming measures need to be taken to help it survive the winter safely. If it is a potted plant, it is recommended to keep it indoors in winter.

4. Watering

It grows better in a slightly humid environment. Each watering needs to be thorough. When the soil is dry, water it immediately. Generally, water the plants every 2-3 days in summer, spring and autumn, and every 5-7 days in winter.

5. Fertilization

It does not require much fertilizer. Generally, some base fertilizer can be applied in the early stage of growth to supplement the nutrients in the soil. Applying some nitrogen fertilizer during the growing season will make the plants grow more lush.
