What is the best season to plant cherry tomatoes?

What is the best season to plant cherry tomatoes?

What month is suitable for planting cherry tomatoes?

The best growth temperature for cherry tomatoes is 23-28℃, so they are usually planted in spring or autumn, which is around February to June or August to October.

In fact, under normal circumstances, if the temperature is suitable, tomatoes can be planted in all seasons. However, when planting in the north, you must pay attention to the temperature and plant when the temperature remains stable. Fluctuating temperatures are not conducive to the growth of cherry tomatoes.

How to grow cherry tomatoes

1. Prepare the soil

The soil for planting cherry tomatoes should not be too sticky or too thick, as this will be detrimental to root breathing and will inhibit the growth of cherry tomatoes. Add decomposed fertilizer to the loose, well-breathable soil.

2. Germination

Soak the cherry tomato seeds in 53°C warm water for about half an hour and stir, or soak the seeds in a diluted potassium permanganate solution for about 10 minutes, then rinse them with clean water several times, wrap them with gauze, and wait until the seeds turn white before sowing.

Tips for planting small tomatoes

1. When planting cherry tomatoes, be sure to buy high-quality, plump seeds with good growth potential to avoid buying low-quality seeds that cannot germinate.

2. Seed germination should be carried out in an environment of 30℃. Remember to wash the seeds twice a day with warm water. Sowing can be carried out only after washing 6 to 8 times.
