How often should I water my money tree?

How often you water the money tree depends on the temperature of the specific season. In spring and autumn, when the temperature is suitable, it grows faster, so you need to increase the watering frequency appropriately, about once every ten days.

Usually, the climate in summer is very hot and water evaporates quickly, about once every five or six days. In winter, the temperature is low and the growth is slow. It is best if the soil in the pot is slightly dry. Usually, watering is done once every half a month.

The correct way to water the money tree

1. Watering in spring and autumn

Money tree prefers warm climate. It grows very fast in spring and autumn and has a high demand for water, so it needs to be watered frequently. Keep the soil slightly dry but with a little moisture. If the climate is dry, you can also spray water around it to increase the air humidity, which is beneficial to the development of the plant.

2. Watering in winter and summer

In summer, the temperature is high and water evaporates quickly, so watering should be more frequent. If it exceeds 35℃, watering should be reduced to prevent bacteria from growing in high temperature and high humidity. Money tree is afraid of cold, so when the temperature is below 10℃ in winter, watering should be stopped. In order to avoid frostbite, cold water should not be used directly for watering.

Overwatering the Money Tree

If you water too much, water will accumulate in the pot soil, causing the roots to be unable to breathe normally, resulting in root rot, yellowing leaves, and other symptoms. Therefore, it is necessary to drain the water in time, maintain good ventilation, and loosen the soil appropriately to allow the water to evaporate quickly and ensure that the soil is dry.
