Rice planting and harvesting time

Rice planting and harvesting time

Rice planting time

The planting time varies greatly among different rice varieties and in different regions. Generally, the planting time is determined based on the variety. Early rice is generally planted in late March or early April, medium rice is generally planted from early April to the end of May, and late rice is generally planted in mid-to-late June.

Rice harvest time

Early rice is sown early and matures early, with a growing period of about 90-120 days, and is usually harvested in June and July. The growing period of medium rice is about 120-150 days, and the harvest season is mid-to-late September. The growing period of late rice is about 150-170 days, and the harvest season is mid-to-early October.

Key points for high-yield rice planting

1. Before planting rice, the seeds must be soaked in water for about 2-3 days. When small white sprouts emerge, they can be taken out. The length of the soaking time depends on the temperature. If the temperature is high, the soaking time is short, and if the temperature is low, the soaking time is long.

2. Spread the sprouted grain seeds flat in a bamboo basket and cover them tightly with plastic film. After the white sprouts grow long, you can grow seedlings in the rice field. Plow the fertile soil in advance. There must be plenty of water in the rice field, and the water must cover the seeds.

3. About 15 days after seedling cultivation, when the seedlings grow to about 10 centimeters, they can be transplanted. Before transplanting, the rice fields need to be watered, plowed, harrowed and other related work must be done. After all these are completed, the seedlings can be pulled and planted.
