What to do if you overwater your cyclamen

1. Treatment method

(1) If you find that you have overwatered the plant, the first thing you should do is to stop watering it for about two to three days so that the water in the pot can dissipate as quickly as possible.

(2) You can use a shovel or other tool to loosen the soil. If the soil is loose and breathable, the rate at which its water evaporates may be accelerated, which is beneficial to the recovery of the plant.

(3) In addition to loosening the soil, you can also place the plants in a well-ventilated place. Fast airflow also helps to dissipate moisture, which is also one of the ways to accelerate it.

(4) In addition to allowing the moisture in the soil to dissipate, sufficient light must also be provided. Because the plant cannot stop growing at this time, and light can allow the plant to continue to accumulate nutrients in preparation for recovery and growth.

2. Watering precautions

After all the water has evaporated, see if the plant has returned to normal. If it recovers, normal maintenance can be carried out. You can water it normally, but you need to use the correct method to water it. Main things to note:

(1) General principle: “See dry and see wet”. Determine whether to water by observing the condition of the soil. If the soil is dry, water it; if the soil is not dry, don't water it. Also, water thoroughly.

(2) The frequency of watering varies in different seasons. The frequency is higher in spring and autumn, about once every one to two days. Water less in summer and winter, because of dormancy in summer and low temperature in winter.
