Cherry cutting time and method

Cherry cutting time and method

Cherry cutting time

Cherries are generally propagated by cuttings in spring, which is the germination season for the plants. The climate is warm and suitable, and the air contains more moisture, which is conducive to the rapid rooting of cherry branches. It is best to do the propagation in the afternoon when the weather is clear to avoid exposing the cherry branches to strong sunlight.

Cherry cutting method

1. Processing branches

When grafting cherries, cut a healthy and strong branch from the mother branch, cut the bottom of the branch into a 45-degree bevel to increase the absorption area, and soak the cherry branch in disinfectant for 10 minutes, then take it out and dry it.

2. Cutting method

When grafting cherry branches, first dig a small hole in the soil, straighten the branch and insert it into the soil, and compact the surrounding soil with your hands. Be careful not to insert the cherry branch directly into the soil to avoid damage to the bottom of the branch.

Cherry cutting maintenance

After the cherry branches are cut and grafted, you need to use a kettle to water the roots of the plant to make the soil completely moist, but do not flood it with water to avoid waterlogging and rot of the cherry roots. At this time, you also need to provide a cool and well-ventilated environment so that it can take root and sprout quickly.
