Money tree cutting time and method

Money tree cutting time

In spring or autumn, the temperature is neither too cold nor too hot. At this time, the branches of the money tree are more active and the survival rate of cuttings is higher, which is very suitable for cuttings. The temperatures in summer and winter are relatively extreme, so it is not suitable for cutting propagation.

Money tree cutting method

1. Prepare the cuttings

Money tree cuttings are made from branches. Choose branches close to the roots, about ten centimeters in length. Keep one or two pairs of leaves on the branches, not too many, otherwise it will consume a lot of water from the branches and reduce the survival rate. Then dip the branches in some rooting water and wait for cuttings.

2. Prepare the soil

Money tree has a wide adaptability to soil. You can choose ordinary soil, but the drainage should be good to reduce the occurrence of water accumulation. If you plant it at home, you can use the leaf mold under the tree, which has a high nutrient content.

3. Cutting method

Insert the cuttings of the money tree into the soil to a depth of about 3 cm, then compact the soil slightly and place the pot in a well-ventilated place. New branches will slowly grow out. Don't water too much, keep the soil moist, and there will be no problem as long as the leaves are still green.

Maintenance of Money Tree after Cutting

After the money tree is grafted, it should not be exposed to the sun for a long time, and it should not be over-watered. If the temperature drops suddenly, the grafted branches need to be placed in a warm environment to ensure that the breeding environment is around 25 degrees Celsius. After the plant takes root and adapts to the potting soil, it can be cultivated according to normal methods.
