When to harvest hairy taro? Planting and harvesting time

Harvest time of hairy taro

Hairy taro is generally harvested and put on the market between August and October every year. It is mainly divided into early-maturing varieties and late-maturing varieties. The early-maturing ones can generally be harvested in August, while the late-maturing ones can only be harvested from September to October. The late-maturing varieties are generally grown in the southern region.

Hairy taro origin

The origin of hairy taro is in China, India, Malaysia and other places. It is more common in tropical regions and is grown in large quantities in the north and south of my country. It prefers a high temperature growing environment, so it is more planted in the south, so the harvest time is earlier and the yield is also larger.

Planting time and key points of hairy taro

1. Planting time : Hairy taro is usually planted in spring from January to March. It prefers a high temperature and humid growing environment, so it can be planted as long as the weather is warm and there is no frost.

2. Deeply plow the soil : Before planting hairy taro, the land needs to be leveled and deeply plowed. As long as the land can be breathable, the soil used should preferably be clay, which should have strong water and fertilizer retention properties.

3. Planting method : Before planting hairy taro, you need to take out the taro and dry it in the sun for about 1-2 days. This will allow it to germinate quickly. Then you can sow it in the soil. Do not water it before it germinates.
