Onion planting time

Shallots are generally planted in April every year. Because they are relatively cold-resistant and have a relatively high yield, they are mostly planted in the Northeast region of my country. They grow very fast and can generally be harvested in just two months.

How to plant shallots

1. Land preparation and fertilization: When planting shallots, you need to choose suitable land. Generally, they are planted in loose and breathable places. Before planting, you need to deep plow the land, then level it and apply fertilizer. The fertilizer used is mainly farmyard manure.

2. Sowing: When planting shallots, the land needs to be made into ridges, and then planted at a certain density. A good distance needs to be maintained. After sowing, the soil needs to be kept moist.

3. Water and fertilizer management: After planting, shallots need to be watered according to the dryness and wetness of the soil. If the water content is relatively high, no watering is required, which will help increase the ground temperature.

Precautions for growing shallots

Attention should be paid to the shallots after they have sprouted. They must be sprayed with some medicine for disinfection after a week to avoid the occurrence of diseases and pests. This should be done when the weather is relatively clear and avoid spraying on rainy days, otherwise it will affect its growth and development.
