Okra Planting Time and Method

Okra planting time

The planting time of okra is usually related to the temperature, because its seeds will only germinate after the temperature reaches 25 degrees. Therefore, in the southern region, it is generally planted in February, while in the north it is in May. In addition, in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, it is generally sown in early April.

Okra Planting Method

1. Seed selection and germination: Before planting okra, you need to select relatively full seeds, then soak them in warm water, take them out after 12 hours, and place them in an environment with a temperature of 25-30 degrees for germination.

2. Prepare the potting soil: Okra has a strong adaptability to soil, but in order to make it grow quickly, it needs to be planted in loose and fertile soil. Generally, it is prepared by mixing garden soil, organic fertilizer and fine sand.

3. Planting: When planting okra, simply spread the seeds evenly on the surface of the soil, then cover it with a thin layer of soil. The temperature needs to be controlled after sowing.

Notes on planting okra

1. After sowing okra, it is best to keep the temperature at around 25 degrees. It will germinate after 4-5 days. After the seedlings have grown for 30-40 days, they can be transplanted.

2. When okra is growing, it needs a sufficient water environment and sufficient sunlight, which is extremely beneficial to its growth.
