Can roses be grown hydroponically?

Roses can be grown hydroponically. Roses grown hydroponically are more ornamental. You can see the leaves, flowers and roots of the roses at the same time, which is relatively clear. At the same time, hydroponic management is also more convenient. You don’t need to water them frequently, fearing that excessive watering will cause root rot and lead to plant death, and you don’t have to worry about pests and diseases in the soil. Hydroponic fertilization is more convenient than soil cultivation. You only need to add nutrient solution on time.

Rose hydroponic cultivation method

1. Prepare the container:

It is best to use glass containers for rose hydroponics, which not only allows you to visually see the rooting situation, but also allows it to receive more light and promote its growth and development.

2. Processing branches

Cut a branch from a healthy rose plant, leaving only about 3 leaves on it. Try to make the cross-section flat and smooth when cutting it. Then soak it in medicinal solution to prevent infection of the cut, and then take it out to dry.

3. Carry out hydroponics

When growing roses hydroponically, first add water to the container that exceeds one-third of the branches, and then place it in a well-ventilated environment without direct sunlight.

Precautions for growing roses in water

1. Water: Change the water once every three days before the rose takes root. Reduce the frequency of water changes after rooting. Tap water needs to be left for three days to allow the chlorine to evaporate before use.

2. Nutrients: After one week of hydroponic cultivation of roses, you can add an appropriate amount of nutrient solution to promote rooting. When root rot is found, prune it in time, then change the water and prune it again.
