What vegetables are suitable for growing wood ash

Wood ash is rich in mineral components such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, so it is a very effective inorganic farm fertilizer. Used as fertilizer in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables, it can not only supplement their nutrition, but also will not harm the vegetables and soil. Wood ash itself is alkaline and suitable for the growth of alkaline-loving vegetables, such as eggplant, cabbage, celery, spinach, pumpkin, beet, cucumber, etc.

1. Eggplant

Eggplant is suitable for planting in wood ash. If you renovate the soil in advance and then apply some base fertilizer and wood ash, you can improve the fertilizer in the soil. Choose high-quality seeds of good resistance varieties, and after germination treatment, sow them in the soil and control the temperature at around 20 degrees.

2. Spinach

Spinach is suitable for planting in wood ash, which can improve soil fertility and prevent soil compaction. Spinach can be sown all year round, but it is best to sow in March and May-July. It is mainly sown in a scattered manner. Sow after germination, cover with 2-3 cm of soil and water appropriately to keep the soil moist.

3. Pumpkin

Pumpkins are suitable for planting in wood ash, but they need to be renovated in advance and a certain amount of base fertilizer should be applied. This will provide sufficient nutrients to make the pumpkin grow quickly. Before sowing the pumpkin, it is necessary to prepare for germination and place it at a temperature of 25 degrees for germination before sowing.

4. Beets

Beets are suitable for planting in wood ash, which can speed up the germination. They are generally sown in April and May. Germination treatment is required before sowing. After germination, it is also necessary to fertilize frequently and water more to maintain basic moisture in the soil.

5. Cucumber

Cucumbers are suitable for planting in wood ash. Cucumbers can be sown in spring and autumn. The seeds should be soaked in 25-degree warm water for 6 hours in advance, and then placed in a 25-degree environment for germination. After one day, take out and sow in soil with wood ash.
