What vegetables are suitable for growing in yellow soil?

Yellow soil is neutral or slightly alkaline, with good air permeability and drainage. It is suitable for vegetables that prefer neutral and alkaline soil, such as spinach, pumpkin, cucumber, beet, garlic, Chinese cabbage, leek and potato, etc.

1. Spinach

Spinach is suitable for planting in yellow soil. Spinach can be sown all year round. The sowing time for spring spinach is March, and the sowing time for summer spinach is May-July. It is mainly sown in the form of spreading. After germination, it is sown. After covering with 2-3 cm of soil, water it appropriately to keep the soil moist.

2. Pumpkin

Pumpkin is suitable for planting in yellow soil, but it needs to be renovated in advance and a certain amount of base fertilizer should be applied. This will provide sufficient nutrients to make the pumpkin grow quickly. Before sowing the pumpkin, it needs to be germinated and placed at a temperature of 25 degrees for germination before sowing.

3. Cucumber

When planting cucumbers, you can choose nutrient-rich humus soil, or you can plant them in yellow mud and apply some base fertilizer. The cucumber seeds should be soaked in warm water at 25 degrees for 6 hours, and then placed in an environment of 25℃ for germination. After one day, they can be taken out and sown.

4. Beets

Beets can be planted in yellow soil, usually in spring from April to May. In the Yellow River Basin where two seasons can be sown a year, sowing is basically done in summer. Before sowing, germination treatment is needed to speed up the germination process. Fertilizers and watering are also needed frequently during the growth period.

5. Garlic

Garlic is suitable for planting in loose and fertile soil. Yellow soil is a good choice. Garlic is generally planted in spring and autumn. You can first prepare the land and apply fertilizer. The garlic plants should be sown at a certain distance, and the sowing depth should be 3-4 cm. In addition, in the later maintenance of garlic, you should apply thin fertilizers frequently, and pay attention to the management of disease and pest prevention.
