How often should I water my potted aloe vera?

How often should I water my potted aloe vera?

Potted aloe vera needs to follow the watering principle of "don't water unless it's dry, and water thoroughly when you do". During the maintenance period, the soil in the pot can be kept dry and moist. During the growth period, be sure to ensure sufficient water.

Potted aloe vera generally needs to be watered every 7-10 days. Although this plant is relatively drought-resistant, the frequency of watering the plant varies due to climate differences in different seasons.

1. Watering in spring

Potted aloe vera is resuming growth in spring, and the plant's water requirement is relatively high. When the temperature is above 15°C, it can be watered every 5-7 days.

2. Watering in summer

The temperature is high in summer, and the water loss in potted aloe vera is relatively fast, so watering is more frequent, generally once every 2-3 days.

3. Watering in autumn

As the temperature drops in autumn, the frequency of watering is similar to that in spring, watering every 5-7 days. However, as the temperature continues to drop in the later period, the amount of watering should also be reduced.

4. Watering in winter

The temperature is low in winter, and the growth of potted aloe vera is relatively slow. Generally, it only needs to be watered once every 15-20 days, and the watering time should be chosen at noon.

What kind of water is good for potted aloe vera

During the maintenance process of potted aloe vera, in addition to watering with tap water, you can also use ferrous sulfate solution to water it. This can help improve the pH of the soil and supplement iron ions for the plant, which is very helpful for the growth of the plant.
