How to keep konjac seeds

Konjac is also called konjac, konjac head, and ghost konjac. The seeds of the plant grow inside the fruit. However, the cost of propagating it by seeds is relatively high and the survival rate is low. It is generally propagated by seed taro.

Konjac is generally fully mature in August and September every year. Choose well-growing plants to save seeds. Place them in a cool place for days, then soak them in water. After rubbing out the seeds, rinse off the flesh and peel on the surface, remove the seeds and dry them in the shade.

Konjac seed propagation

Konjac can be propagated by seeds in spring and winter. Spring sowing can be in March and April, and winter sowing can be from December to February of the following year. The plant's growth cycle is relatively long, and it takes half a year or longer to harvest after planting.

Konjac seed planting method

1. Soil selection and land preparation

When planting konjac, you should choose fertile, loose, slightly acidic soil. The pH value of the soil should be between 6-7. The environment should be cool and ventilated. Before planting, the soil should be turned more than 40 cm deep.

2. Sowing

Konjac seeds can be planted in rows, and the sowing depth should be controlled at about 5 cm. Be careful not to let the seeds come into direct contact with fertilizer. The plant likes fertilizer and is drought-resistant, so it basically does not need watering after the seedling stage.
