How to propagate primroses

1. Seeding method

1. Prepare the soil: Before breeding, prepare a substrate suitable for the growth of primroses. It is better to use softer acidic soil. You can mix leaf mold, garden soil and a small amount of base fertilizer for sowing.

2. Germination: After purchasing the seeds, you need to germinate them by putting them in warm water and soaking them for 1-2 days. After the seeds have absorbed enough water, take them out and the germination rate will be relatively high after sowing.

3. Sowing: Because its seeds are relatively small, they should be sown into the substrate using the broadcasting method. Finally, cover with a 1-2 cm thick layer of substrate, and after watering thoroughly, the sowing is completed.

2. Cutting method

1. Time: It is best to carry out primrose cuttings in mid-to-late August. At this time, the cuttings grow faster and will not delay the flowering period of the following year.

2. Cuttings: Choose a branch that is strong and has no signs of being damaged by pests and diseases. The survival rate of such branches is much higher than that of weak branches. The length of the branches should be about 15cm. The leaves at the bottom should be properly trimmed and then dipped in an appropriate amount of rooting powder before cutting.

3. Cutting: Prepare a substrate with high air permeability, insert the treated branches into the substrate, do not insert too deep, it is best to place it in a semi-shaded and ventilated place.
