How to save seeds of Hibiscus truncatum

Hibiscus tiliaceus is also called mini hibiscus, South African sunflower, etc. Its seeds grow in its capsule. After the flowers of the plant wither, tiny seeds will be produced. After the seeds mature naturally, they can be directly removed.

The fruits of the hibiscus usually mature around September and October in autumn. Choose healthy and plump seeds for seed preservation and pick them directly after they are ripe. They are basically picked and planted immediately. In addition, you can also buy seeds in stores.

Hibiscus sabdariffa seed propagation

How to plant hibiscus seeds

1. Choose the soil

Hibiscus tiliaceus is not very demanding on the soil, and it does not have any special requirements for flower pots. If you grow it at home, you can use peat soil, leaf mold, and river sand to prepare it. In addition, you can also use a special seedling box.

2. Sowing

Put the prepared soil into the flowerpot, use the hole sowing method to place the hibiscus seeds one by one in the shallow pits, with an interval of about 1 cm, then cover with a 1 cm thick layer of soil, and then water thoroughly.
