Can chrysanthemum be grown hydroponically?

Chrysanthemums can be grown in water or in soil. Chrysanthemums grown in water can be viewed for their leaves, flowers, and roots, making them more ornamental. They are also cleaner, less likely to breed diseases and pests, and there is no need to worry about root rot caused by excessive watering.

Chrysanthemum hydroponic cultivation methods and key points

1. Prepare the container

When hydroponically cultivating chrysanthemums, you need to prepare a glass container with a diameter of about 5 cm and a depth of 10 cm. Add half of it with clean water. The water should not be too much, otherwise it will affect its rooting.

2. Processing branches

If chrysanthemums can be rooted in hydroponics, you need to choose strong cuttings with a length of about 15 cm. After pruning, apply an appropriate amount of rooting powder on the wound.

3. Carry out hydroponics

Directly insert the processed chrysanthemum branches into a container with water. Be careful not to let the roots touch the bottom of the container and the water level should not be too high.

Precautions for growing chrysanthemum in water

During the maintenance of hydroponic chrysanthemums, the water of the plants needs to be changed every 3-5 days. Then, an appropriate amount of nutrient solution should be added to the water and placed in a cool environment. This can promote the chrysanthemums to take root as soon as possible.
