How to save the rotten roots of tiger lily

1. Can root rot be saved?

Whether the Sansevieria can be saved after its roots rot has a lot to do with the extent of the root rot. If the roots are rotten very thoroughly and basically rotten away, then it may be impossible to save the plant. If only part of it is rotten, it can be revived through appropriate steps.

2. How to save

1. First remove the plant from the pot, then rinse the roots with clean water and clean the soil on them. Afterwards, cut off any rotten parts. Be sure to be thorough and not leave any rotten areas, otherwise they will affect other healthy root systems after re-potting.

2. After pruning, disinfection is required, and special disinfectants are best. If not, common gentian violet will also work. They can effectively prevent wound rot.

3. The next step is rooting. The substrate prepared for rooting can be made by mixing garden soil, vermiculite and peat soil.

4. After the roots have grown, it is time to put the plant back in the pot. Choose a suitable substrate that is loose, fertile and breathable. It can be made by mixing nutrient soil, garden soil and coarse sand. First place the substrate in the pot, then repot the plant.

The main cause of root rot in plants is too much water. Therefore, when watering in the future, you must not water too much. You can water it thoroughly, but there must not be any stagnant water.
