Succulent plants like shade or sunlight, which one is a sun-loving plant?

Do succulents prefer shade or sun?

Succulents are sun-loving plants. They are also called water-loving plants and fleshy plants. There are many types of succulents. Because they like light very much, when caring for them, they must be placed in a light environment. This will not only allow them to absorb sufficient sunlight, but also be better for their growth state, allowing them to thrive more luxuriantly.

If it is too shaded, it will cause symptoms such as loose fleshy plants and thin leaves. On the contrary, if the light is too strong, it will cause poor growth or burns. Therefore, succulent plants should be careful of high temperature and long-term exposure in the summer, and need full sunlight in other seasons.

Growth habits of succulents

1. Ventilation

Succulent plants prefer a well-ventilated growing environment. If the living environment is always stuffy, it may cause succulent plants to breed bacteria and contract various diseases. Therefore, for the health of succulents, they should be placed in a well-ventilated place to ensure that they can be exposed to fresh air.

2. Lighting

Succulent plants must have sufficient sunlight to grow. If the lighting conditions are difficult to meet the requirements, the growth of succulents will be affected, easily causing the leaves of the plants to fade and turn yellow. However, if there is sufficient sunlight, the leaves of succulents will be full of color and very plump. Therefore, if you grow them at home, except for the need for shade in summer, they can be exposed to sunlight in the other three seasons.

3. Temperature

Succulents prefer a warm growing environment, and grow best in an environment of 15-28℃. Because they cannot tolerate cold and heat, they are easily frostbitten in winter, which affects the health of succulents, so the winter temperature cannot be lower than 8℃. In the hot summer, high temperatures will make the plants listless and easily dehydrated and withered, so the summer temperature cannot be higher than 35℃.
