Planting methods and key points of rapeseed

1. Seed treatment

Before sowing lettuce, you should choose varieties that are heat-resistant and disease-resistant, such as sesame lettuce. It is best to soak the seeds to germinate before sowing. You can wrap the seeds with a wet cloth and soak them in water for 1 hour. After taking them out, place them at a temperature of 15-20 degrees for germination. After the lettuce seeds turn white, you can plant them.

2. Soil selection

To plant lettuce, we need to prepare the land first, then apply base fertilizer, and choose a plot with higher terrain, fertile soil, good permeability, and no chrysanthemum crops planted before. Apply sufficient base fertilizer and cover it with a layer of old film after sowing to prevent rain and reduce temperature.

3. Daily maintenance

During the growth and development period of lettuce, the field needs to be maintained moist, and inter-row cultivation and weeding must be carried out to reduce nutrient loss and promote root growth. During the growth period, foliar fertilizer must be applied 2-times in combination with spraying water, generally using 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution for spraying.

4. Prevent and control pests and diseases

Common diseases of lettuce include downy mildew, gray mold, brown spot, etc., which can be prevented and controlled with agents such as foramyl, thiophanate-methyl, and chlorpyrifos. At the same time, field management should be strengthened to improve the plant's disease resistance.
