Eggplant seed germination method common germination seedling raising technology

Germination of eggplant seeds refers to the process of placing the eggplant seeds under suitable temperature, humidity, oxygen and other conditions, and cultivating the eggplant seeds for germination.

Since the germination of eggplant seeds has strict requirements on temperature, humidity and air permeability, if the untreated seeds are sown directly, it will cause difficulties for the seeds to germinate and push the soil in the seedbed. Generally, the seeds are sown after germination, which can accelerate the process of eggplant seeds emerging from the soil, thereby improving the germination rate and uniformity of germination.

Eggplant seed germination time

Eggplant has a thick seed coat, so its soaking and germination time will be relatively long. First, soak the seeds in cold water for about 2 to 3 minutes, then stir the seeds with warm water at about 50°C for about 15 minutes, then take them out and wash them with clean water, and then soak them in warm water for a day and night. When more than 80% of the seeds are white, they can be sown. Generally, eggplant seeds can be sown in summer and autumn.

Eggplant seed germination technology

1. Clay pot germination method

To germinate the seeds in a clay pot, first take out the seeds and disinfect them, then wash them with clean water, then pour off the excess water, then wrap them with a wet cloth and place them directly in the clay pot. Then wrap the clay pot tightly with gauze, and then put the clay pot in a warm place. After a few days, the eggplant will sprout.

2. Sand germination method

The sand germination method can help eggplant seeds germinate faster. The germination speed of this method is quite fast. The first thing to do is to clean the sand, and then put the sand outside for exposure to the sun. Then put the seeds and sand in a clay pot in a certain proportion, preferably a ratio of 1 to 5, and then place it in a warm place and wait for germination.

3. Heat preservation germination method

The heat preservation germination method is to place the seeds directly in an insulated box and keep the temperature between 25 and 28 degrees. Wait until most of the seeds have broken through the skin, then you can lower the temperature and wait until the temperature is roughly between 20 and 24 degrees. This will allow the eggplant seeds to germinate as soon as possible.
