Can Cordyceps be hydroponically cultivated? Hydroponics cultivation methods and precautions

Can Cordyceps be hydroponically cultivated?

Cordyline can be grown in both hydroponics and soil, and you can choose according to your needs. However, if the soil-grown Cordyline is directly converted to hydroponics, the roots directly soaking in water will produce a certain anaerobic reaction. In severe cases, the plant will die due to root rot and stinking.

Methods and key points of hydroponic cultivation of Cordyceps sinensis

1. Root washing

Cordyline can also be cultivated hydroponically. Take the plant out of the original pot, remove the soil attached to it, wash it in clean water, and cut off rotten roots, dead roots, and overly long roots.

2. Carry out hydroponics

Prepare a transparent container, wrap the roots of the plant with a soft object such as a sponge, place it in the container, and allow two-thirds of the roots to be immersed in the nutrient solution. The nutrient solution needs to be replaced every 15-20 days.

Precautions for growing cordyline in water

1. After hydroponics, Cordyline needs to ensure good light. It is best to place it in a bright place to allow it to be exposed to sufficient light, but also avoid direct sunlight.

2. The water quality requirements for hydroponic Cordyceps sinensis are relatively high. The water needs to be kept clean during maintenance. If it becomes turbid, it needs to be replaced in time. In summer, when the temperature is high, the interval between water changes can be shortened appropriately.
