Is the dragon claw a shade-loving or sun-loving plant?

Does Dragon Claw prefer shade or sun?

Dragon claw is a sun-loving plant, also known as arborescent aloe. It is a plant of the genus Aloe in the Liliaceae family. It likes light very much, so when planting it, it must be placed in a light environment. This will not only allow it to absorb sufficient sunlight, but also be better for the plant's growth state and promote its healthy growth.

Dragon claws basking in the sun

Dragon claw has requirements for light. It grows in a place with high temperature and loose soil and absorbs enough sunlight, which can make it grow rapidly and also help its branches and leaves absorb enough nutrients.

During its growth period, it should be exposed to more sunlight. Dragon claws can be exposed to the sun, but they must avoid direct sunlight. Strong sunlight exposure will make it shriveled and dehydrated.

Growth habits of dragon claw

1. During the growth period, the dragon claw needs an appropriate amount of water to keep the plant moist. Remember to pay attention to drainage. Too much water will burn its roots.

2. It likes sunlight. In order to make the plant grow bigger and more moisturized, it must get sufficient light. If the light is too strong in summer, it needs to be shaded, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow and fall off.

3. It likes acidic soil, so it can grow in places where the soil pH value is around 4-6.

4. It is not cold-resistant, and the temperature in winter should not be lower than 10℃, but it is very heat-resistant and can survive in summer temperatures above 30℃, so its most suitable growth temperature is 20-28℃.
