1. Grafting method(1) Time selection: Generally speaking, we will choose the "docking" method. For this method, reproduction can be carried out from spring to autumn, which is its main growing season. However, relatively speaking, it is more common from April to July. (2) Specific method: For this method, it is better to choose a distance of about 70 cm from the ground. After tying it up, wrap it with mud and wrap leaves on the outside to prevent it from being washed away by rain. After about sixty days, we can perform the excision. This is a method with a higher chance of survival and is also more commonly used. 2. Layering method(1) Ordinary layering: If you choose this method, it is best to do it in February or March. Cut the base of the selected branch to about half the depth, then cut a small section upwards, sandwich a tile in the middle, and gently press it into the soil, being careful not to break it. Then, secure it with wire to prevent it from warping. After it is done, pile up the soil. (2) High branch layering: We need to choose strong branches that are free of pests and diseases as materials. Tender branches are best, and the diameter needs to be between 1.5 and 2 centimeters. After choosing, cut a slit at the fork of the pot, cover it with a bamboo tube, fill it with substrate, and tie it with a rope on the outside. Be careful not to touch it, and spray it with a small amount of water to keep it appropriately moist. Around May of the second year, the plants can be removed and transplanted. 3. Other methodsOther methods of propagation include sowing and cuttings, but they are not very common. |
