How to grow Clivia to make it bloom

Clivia flowering time

Clivia generally blooms from January to April every year, with a flowering period of about 30-50 days. It usually takes 2-3 years of maintenance before it can bloom. If the growth environment is not suitable, it will take about 4-5 years. If it is properly maintained during the flowering period, it can bloom continuously. The temperature needs to be lowered and the light needs to be reduced.

Clivia cultivation and flowering method

1. Fertilization : Before Clivia blooms, it needs to apply some bone meal, so that it can bloom more colorful flowers and the flowers will be larger. After the flowering is over, it also needs appropriate topdressing, and some organic fertilizer can be applied.

2. Light : Clivia needs appropriate scattered light before flowering, so that the flowers will be brighter in color, and the number of flowers will not be small. The flowering period will also be longer. Therefore, during the flowering period, be sure to avoid direct sunlight, otherwise the flowering time will be shortened.

3. Temperature : Temperature has a great impact on Clivia. During the flowering period, it is best to keep the temperature between 15-20 degrees. This will help the flowers grow better and absorb fertilizer and water better.

4. Water : Clivia needs to increase the amount of water appropriately when it is blooming, because it needs a relatively large amount of water at this time and needs to maintain a certain humidity, which is more beneficial for flowering.
