How to grow Dendrobium nobile so that it blooms

Dendrobium nobile has certain medicinal value. Its stems and flowers can be used as medicine, and it is also highly ornamental, with luxuriant blooms. It usually has flower stalks in March, flower buds in April, and begins to bloom from the end of April to May, with a flowering period of about half a month. The flowering period of Dendrobium nobile is related to temperature.

How to cultivate and make Dendrobium nobile bloom

1. Temperature: Dendrobium nobile has relatively high requirements for the environment and prefers a warm growing environment. Therefore, the usual maintenance temperature should be controlled between 20-30 degrees. It is not resistant to low temperature environments. In winter, it cannot be kept in too cold places for a long time. The ambient temperature must be higher than 8 degrees.

2. Light: Dendrobium nobile cannot tolerate strong light and prefers a semi-shaded growing environment. It cannot be completely without light. During its growth period, a shade degree of 60% is more appropriate. When it is in the seedling stage, a shade degree of 70% is more appropriate. No shade is needed in winter.

3. Watering: Dendrobium nobile has a greater demand for water. The soil moisture should be controlled at 60-70 percent, and the air humidity should be controlled at 70-80 percent. It should be noted that water control is required in both summer and winter.

4. Fertilization: Dendrobium nobile does not require much fertilizer. It only needs some fertilizer in spring and autumn, once a month.

5. Diseases: Dendrobium nobile will have more diseases and pests in summer and autumn. Common diseases include soft rot and black spot, which can be controlled by carbendazim, and the diseased leaves should be cut off. Common pests are snails, non-shield scale insects, etc., which can be controlled with lime and malt solution.
