Cultivation methods and precautions of goldenrod

Cultivation methods and precautions of goldenrod

1. Maintenance methods

1. Watering: You don’t need to water the goldenrod too much at ordinary times. It has a certain drought resistance. When watering, you should follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry, that is, water it when the soil is dry.

2. Light: It likes sunlight very much. When cultivating it, you should give it sufficient light as much as possible. You can maintain it in a balcony with good sunlight conditions. The sunshine time should not be less than four hours a day, but it can also be grown in semi-shade.

3. Fertilizer: The demand for fertilizer of the goldenrod is not very high. Usually, it is enough to apply liquid fertilizer once every half a month. When planting, farmyard manure should be applied as base fertilizer. Sufficient nutrients can ensure its healthy growth.

4. Soil: It does not have very high requirements for soil and can grow well in most soils. When preparing the soil, you can use garden soil or leaf mold, and mix it with pig manure thoroughly.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: The goldenrod needs pruning, and it is best to do it in autumn. You can cut off the overly dense branches, and some diseased and dead branches also need to be cut off to ensure the transparency and beauty of the plant.

2. Cutting: It is best to carry out cuttings of the goldenrod from June to August. Select relatively sturdy branches grown in the current year. After treating with rooting powder, it is best to carry out cuttings in an environment with a temperature of 20-30℃. Make sure the soil has a certain humidity, which is very beneficial for its rooting.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Aphids: Take timely prevention and control measures when they are discovered. If they are discovered late, they need to be sprayed with 3000 to 4000 times diluted 6% imidacloprid emulsifiable concentrate to kill them.

2. Mulberry leaf moth: This pest mainly feeds on the leaves of the plant. In severe cases, the entire leaf plant will be damaged, leading to the death of the plant. It is necessary to spray with 1500 to 2000 times diluted 20% Miman suspension, which will not pollute the environment.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be grown indoors: The goldenrod can be grown indoors. It has strong tolerance and can be grown well by novices. When breeding, it is best to place it in a well-lit location indoors and pay attention to ventilation, so that it will grow better.

2. Is it edible? The fruits of the honeysuckle are usually eaten by birds, but cannot be eaten by humans. Those with children should also be careful, as the fruits are very bright and should be careful not to eat them by mistake.
