How to grow jasmine so that it blooms

Jasmine flowering time

Jasmine usually blooms from May to August. If the maintenance environment is suitable, it can bloom three times a year, and the flowering will last from May to November. From the end of May to the beginning of June, jasmine can bloom successively and can bloom until August. The second flowering time is from August to September, and the third time is from early September to early October.

How to grow and bloom jasmine

1. Slightly acidic soil

Jasmine grows vigorously and blooms abundantly in suitable soil. It is suitable to be planted in loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. It can be prepared by mixing garden soil and leaf mold, and then adding some fine sand.

2. Plenty of sunlight

Jasmine is a sun-loving plant and needs to be provided with sufficient light during its growth period. It only needs to be shaded during the summer noon. If it is exposed directly to strong light, the leaves will turn yellow and it will be difficult to bloom.

3. Water correctly

If you want jasmine to bloom more, you need to keep the soil moist. Generally, you can water it in the morning and evening in summer, and always observe the moisture level of the potting soil. Water it thoroughly when the soil is dry. In spring and autumn, water it once every 2 to 3 days. In winter, control watering to once a week.

4. Fertilization issues

During the growth period of jasmine, you can apply some dilute liquid fertilizer. During the flowering period from June to September, you can apply liquid fertilizer with higher phosphorus content. Fertilize once a week. You can also spray 0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution on the leaves to promote more flowers.

5. Prune frequently

After the jasmine flowering period ends, the withered flowers should be pruned in time, and the old and dead branches, as well as the useless long branches, should also be cut off. This can reduce the consumption of nutrients, concentrate the nutrients on the growth of strong branches, and promote the blooming of more flowers.
