Lily pollination time and method

Lily pollination time and method

Lily Pollination Method

Bee pollination: If lilies are planted outdoors, they will attract many bees during the flowering period, and pollination is generally carried out by bees.

Artificial pollination: If you want to have better seed production when growing indoors, it is recommended to do artificial pollination. After pollination, the lilies will fall off and slowly produce seeds.

Natural pollination: Even without artificial pollination, the pollen from the stamens will fall onto the petals, allowing pollination, but the pollination rate will be lower.

Lily Pollination Method

Pollination time: The best time to pollinate lilies is the day after the flowers open.

Pollination method: Generally, when lilies bloom, they will grow many long pistils, and the stamens will surround the pistils. If your lilies are grown indoors and there are no bees to pollinate them, you can use artificial pollination. Apply the pollen of the stamens to the pistils to complete the whole pollination process. After pollination, the lilies will wither.
