Where do poplars like to grow?

Populus euphratica generally likes to grow in deserts, mostly in hot and dry areas. At the same time, it also likes to grow on both sides of rivers flowing into the desert.

Populus euphratica is a precious plant in the desert areas of Asia and Africa. It plays a very important role in regulating the oasis climate, preventing wind and sand, and forming fertile soil.

Populus euphratica is a precious forest resource unique to desert areas and is distributed in Central Asia. In my country, it is mainly distributed in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai and western Gansu. Among them, it is planted more in the Tarim Basin and around the Taklimakan Desert.

Populus euphratica growth environment

Populus euphratica belongs to the angiosperm family. It can tolerate the arid environment in the desert and has a strong tolerance to saline-alkali land. At the same time, it also likes plenty of sunlight and can resist high temperatures and sandstorms. Its main source of water for growth is river flood water.

Populus euphratica growth conditions

Populus euphratica has a good adaptability to temperature changes and can survive both high temperatures of 45°C and low temperatures of -40°C.

The total salt content of Populus euphratica soil should be controlled between 1-3%. If it exceeds 3%, it will cause large-scale death of Populus euphratica.

When raising seedlings artificially, the site selected should be saline-alkali land with good ventilation, smooth drainage, and fertile soil, and reasonable irrigation and drug control should be carried out to avoid the disease of Populus euphratica.
