Cutting method of Begonia

Cutting method of Begonia

1. Preparation:

Before cutting, prepare the razor blade, plastic wrap and branches or leaves of Begonia. When doing branch cuttings, choose healthy branches of moderate length. When doing leaf cuttings, choose healthy leaves that are 60% ripe. This will increase the survival rate. Choose soil with good drainage.

2. Steps:

When cutting branches, the length of the branches should be moderate, and the lower end of the branch should be cut obliquely with a blade. The cut surface should be at a 45° angle, cut into a horseshoe shape. When cutting leaves, leave 3 cm of the petiole of the cut leaf and cut off the rest, with the cut surface at a 45° angle. Let it sit in a cool place for 10 minutes, and then start inserting after the cut surface of the branches or leaves are dry. Dig a hole in the sterilized soil, insert the cut branches or leaves into the hole, and then fill it with soil. You can also put it in a moisturizing box or a transparent storage box. After inserting it, water it thoroughly, and there should be no water accumulation on the leaves. Cover it with plastic wrap, then place it in a bright place without direct sunlight, and control the temperature between 10 and 25 degrees. It will take about 3 weeks for it to take root.

3. Notes:

This plant has strict requirements on temperature, sunlight, water and nutrients. It is not easy for it to survive in summer, but it is easier to survive in autumn and winter. It is recommended to do it in autumn and winter. When operating, you must use a healthy mother plant, and if the soil for cuttings is contaminated, it must be disinfected before use. After that, you must pay attention to moisturizing. The humidity should be kept at around 80%, and it must be breathable until the roots grow out.
