When is the right time to repot spider plants?

Chlorophytum repotting time

Generally, newly bought spider plants need to be repotted, because the quality of the pots used for newly bought spider plants is not very good, so you need to replace it with a pot that has high ornamental value and a certain drainage capacity. Repotting can make it grow better.

Chlorophytum is usually repotted in spring and autumn every year, which is around March or September. When repotting, you should choose the right weather. It is generally more appropriate to repot on a sunny day with sufficient light.

Chlorophytum repotting method and steps

1. Treatment before repotting

Before repotting, you need to give the spider plant enough water. After repotting, you don’t need to water it for the time being. You can wait for it to adapt for about a week before watering it regularly.

2. Prepare the flower pot

Generally, when repotting, you should choose a suitable flowerpot, which should have drainage holes and should also be a relatively good-looking one, so that the overall ornamental value can be enhanced after planting the spider plant.

3. Choose soil matrix

When repotting, use new fertile soil. It is best to mix garden soil and sand. This will increase the air permeability of the soil and also provide certain nutrients.

4. Basin operation

First, add some soil to the flowerpot, then put the spider plant in, fill the roots with soil and water it appropriately. Just wait for it to slowly adapt and grow normally.
