Where is the best place to grow pomegranates?

Pomegranate growing area

Pomegranates generally grow in the middle of the mountains. They are suitable for growing on the sunny side of the mountain where they can receive sufficient sunlight. It is best to choose fertile garden soil for growing.

Pomegranate is suitable for planting in the central region of my country. For example, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Henan and other places are very suitable for pomegranate cultivation. Whether in the south or the north, pomegranate is distributed in most parts of my country. Even Huili, Sichuan, a high-altitude area that was rarely visited by people in ancient times, is also a famous pomegranate hometown. Looking at the whole country, the pomegranate with a long history in Lintong is more famous.

Pomegranate Planting Conditions

Pomegranate is suitable for planting in areas with less rainfall. Most of its main planting areas have a temperate monsoon climate, which is characterized by rain and heat occurring at the same time. In summer, the rain and heat conditions are not as severe as in the south, but are relatively mild. The average year-round temperature is around 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, which is an excellent environment for pomegranate growth.

Key points of pomegranate planting and management

1. Lighting:

Pomegranates require a lot of light conditions for both plant growth and fruit ripening. When choosing a planting site, try to pick a location with long lighting time and superior light quality.

2. Water content:

Pomegranate does not require a lot of water. When it is on the branch before the fruit matures, you can water it more appropriately to make up for the water consumed by the pomegranate in producing fruit and allow the plant to grow better.

3. Soil:

It is best to choose sandy soil with good hydrophobic properties for the growth of pomegranates to avoid excessive water accumulation in the soil during the rainy season, which will cause the pomegranate roots to be unable to breathe or even die.
