Cocoa IntroductionCocoa was originally distributed in the tropical regions of America. It can be made into chocolate candies and beverages. It is rich in nutrients and has a mellow taste. It is also known as the cocoa tree, rum flavor, and Alps. Cocoa Growing ConditionsCoconut tree likes warm and humid climate and sufficient light environment, but it is more shade-tolerant during the seedling stage, and adult trees need to be provided with sufficient light. West Africa has a large area of cocoa beans, where the temperature is stable between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius, and rainfall only occurs briefly from April to June and from October to November. The rest of the year is sunny, which allows the cocoa beans to grow full and easy to dry. Cocoa Growing ClimateCocoa prefers a high temperature and heat-sufficient environment with an average annual temperature above 22 degrees. The area also has abundant precipitation, which can meet the cocoa tree's demand for water. The dry and rainy seasons are obvious, and precipitation is concentrated in the summer. Cocoa Planting TimeIn the local environment, cocoa trees grow in very humid conditions, but not necessarily very hot, with subtropical and tropical temperatures between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius, and rainfall only occurring briefly from April to June and from October to mid-November, making it suitable for planting in the spring. Cocoa farming benefitsThe content of soil organic matter, total nitrogen, available phosphorus, quick-acting potassium and other nutrients in the intercropping garden are significantly higher than those in the monoculture coconut garden. The cocoa yield of intercropping is significantly improved, and it plays a role in saving costs and increasing efficiency. Cocoa Planting TipsCocoa is not a particularly easy plant, it will tolerate brief temperatures below 60 degrees but will not thrive. Growth almost ceases, and prolonged periods below 50 degrees will be fatal. It really does best when grown in its preferred, relatively narrow, filtered sunlight, very high humidity, plenty of food and water, and warm temperatures. The seedlings of the cocoa tree cannot tolerate direct sunlight. When the seedlings emerge from the soil, the straw should be uncovered in time and a shed should be built on the seedbed to provide shade. When the seedlings grow 2-3 true leaves, fertilizer and water management should be strengthened, and weeds in the bed should be removed to promote the healthy growth of the cocoa seedlings. Cocoa seedlings grow fast. As long as they are managed properly, the seedlings will generally be basically grown after a year of cultivation. The grower can select healthy plants for garden planting when there is a lot of rain in the autumn. For cocoa cultivation, choose a place with fertile soil, slightly higher terrain, good drainage and shelter from the wind. |
