Can longan trees be potted?

Longan trees can be potted, and growing them in flower pots is also a good choice. Longan trees are very suitable for potted plants. Planting them in pots can better regulate the nutrients in their living environment, which is conducive to their growth.

Potted longan trees generally need to be planted in pots with a diameter greater than 40 cm. Ceramic pots are best, and the bottom of the pots should be lined with hydrophobic gravel. Potted longan trees can bear fruit, and the fruits usually mature in January.

Longan tree potted cultivation method

1. Soil preparation

To prepare soil for longan trees, you can use garden soil combined with slag and humus. Of course, if you have peat soil, you can also directly mix it with humus. The main thing is to use the hydrophobicity of these materials to achieve the effect of allowing the longan tree to absorb water better.

2. Pruning

When pruning longan trees, be careful not to cut off the tips of the branches. If you do so by mistake, the plant will stop growing in that direction. When young fruits have been produced, the surrounding branches and leaves should also be carefully pruned.

3. Watering

Longan trees require a lot of water. Except for the initial stage of planting longan trees, a large amount of water needs to be poured during the subsequent planting process to ensure smooth fruiting.

4. Fertilization

If the longan tree does not produce young fruits, there is no need to apply additional fertilizer. The longan tree can obtain enough nutrients in normal soil. When young fruits are produced, appropriate top dressing can be applied to supplement nutrients.

5. Lighting

If the longan tree is exposed to strong light in the summer, it needs to be moved back indoors to avoid burns to the plant from the intense sunlight in the afternoon.
