How to transplant mulberry trees

Preparation before transplanting mulberry trees

Deep tillage of the soil can promote oxidation and help enhance soil aeration and water permeability. Secondly, apply sufficient base fertilizer. It is appropriate to choose fully decomposed pig and cow manure and soil manure as base fertilizer, and combine it with deep plowing to bury the organic fertilizer deep in the soil. The land needs to be prepared carefully, weeds need to be removed, the surface needs to be leveled, and drainage ditches need to be dug with a depth of about 20-30 cm. The depth of the drainage ditches dug around the field and the cross ditch in the middle of the field should be about 10 cm deeper than the side ditches.

Transplanting of mulberry trees

Cut off all the branches of the mulberry tree, leaving only the main trunk and a few large branches, and as few leaves as possible. Dig deep with soil, keep the root system intact as much as possible, and minimize damage to the root system when transplanting. It is best to transplant mulberry trees on rainy days, and avoid transplanting on sunny days to reduce water evaporation. After digging out the mulberry tree, it needs to be transplanted immediately and watered sufficiently.

After transplanting, it needs to be covered with a shade net. You can water it with rooting spirit again after a few days to help promote the sprouting and growth of new roots. Under proper maintenance, the survival rate of transplanted mulberry trees is relatively high.
