Ginkgo is highly adaptable. In its natural distribution area, the average annual temperature is 8℃-20℃, and in the suitable growth area it is 12℃-18℃, with 16℃ being the most suitable. In areas where ginkgo is cultivated, the absolute minimum temperature should not be lower than minus 25 degrees Celsius. Ginkgo requires a certain low temperature during its natural dormancy period from leaf fall to germination. The temperature conditions in most parts of my country can meet its low temperature requirements.

Ginkgo has a long lifespan and is suitable for growing in subtropical monsoon zones with good water and heat conditions. The soil is yellow soil or yellow-brown soil with a pH value between 5-6. The initial growth is slow, and female plants take about 20 years to bear fruit. Even 500-year-old trees can bear fruit normally.

Ginkgo trees are widely distributed in China, mainly in Hebei, Hubei, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Sichuan and other regions. Among them, Tancheng County, Shandong Province is the largest ginkgo cultivation and planting area.

The best time to plant ginkgo is in April in spring. Before sowing, the seeds must be germinated first. Soak the seeds in warm water for 2-3 days, and change the water every day. Then take them out and put them on a paper towel. Spray water regularly to keep them moist. After 7 days, they will sprout and be ready for sowing.

Generally, it should be planted in places with higher terrain and sufficient water resources. The ground should be leveled before sowing, and the seeds should be turned into the soil after fertilization. The seeds should be planted with the tip of the bud facing down, covered with soil and watered. It will grow to 20 cm after one year, and the fruit will have to wait 16 to 30 years.
