Can the Chinese crabapple be grown in pots?

Begonia can be grown in pots. The roots of Begonia grow shallowly and the plant is of moderate size, so it can be planted in pots without any problems. Begonia is more suitable for potted plants because it has more stringent requirements for light and sometimes needs to be moved.

The flowerpot used for the crabapple cannot be too small. Generally, a flowerpot larger than 15 centimeters is needed. It is best to use a flowerpot made of fired clay. This type of flowerpot has good air permeability. The crabapple can bloom and bear fruit normally when planted in a flowerpot. It can grow freely and obtain nutrients without being affected.

How to cultivate crabapple in pot

1. Soil preparation

When preparing the soil for the Begonia, the main thing is to choose soil with good hydrophobicity to facilitate root respiration. At this time, choose sandy soil with slag mixed with a certain amount of humus, which is a good base soil for the Begonia.

2. Pruning

When pruning the crabapple tree, be careful not to damage its main trunk. Pruning the side branches can concentrate its nutrients in the core area and prevent the nearby branches from growing too vigorously and robbing the main trunk of nutrients.

3. Watering

When watering, you need to adjust the amount of water according to the season. In spring, you can control it to water every three days or so, in summer you can water it every day, and in winter you should reduce the frequency of watering to once every two weeks.

4. Lighting

Begonia has very high requirements for light, which is also an important reason why it is suitable for potted plants rather than ground planting. Begonia likes sunlight and can be exposed to the sunlight for a long time, but if the sunlight is too strong, it must be moved to a cool place.

5. Fertilization

The requirements of the crabapple for fertilizer are not high, and no additional fertilizers such as nitrogen and phosphorus are needed. Adding humus during planting can meet its nutrient needs.
